In a world where the demand for material resources continues to grow, the basic need for minerals is evident all around us. The Multitek Model HCS-400 Hydraulic Core Splitter was developed to assist mineral exploration companies that analyze drill core samples taken from deep within the earth's surface.
The Multitek Model HCS-400 Hydraulic Core Splitter is a basic geologist research tool and is engineered and manufactured to be quickly dismantled into a compact size, allowing the machine to be transported to remote areas.
The Multitek Model HCS-400 Hydraulic Core Splitter can be powered by the use of an electric motor or small gasoline engine. Utilizing hydraulic force and special heat-treated, hardened steel blades, a core sample of up to approximately 6" long can be taken and then split in half. This practice also allows the geologist to see, physically test and analyze each new core sample.
Drill core samples are generally several inches in diameter and are then catalogued in core boxes or trays for future study and analyses as mining projects are developed.
A list of clients for the Multitek Hydraulic Core Splitter includes; BHP Billington (Peru South America, Exxon Mineral's (Rhinelander, Wisconsin), Molycorp, Inc. (Colorado), The Doe Run Company (Missouri), Amselco Exploration, Inc. (South Carolina), Round Mountain Gold Corp. (Nevada), Codelco (Chile), Lanzco (Chile), DR Exploration Co. Ltd, (South Africa)
